Before Proceedure
- Do not use topical agents that may increase sensitivity, such as alpha hydroxyl acid, beta hydroxyl acids, exfoliating masks, salicylic acids, hydroquinone and benzoyl acne products 5-7 days prior.
- Avoid taking anti inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen , Motrin or Advil 3 days prior to treatment. These will interfere with the natural inflammatory process that is crucial and responsible for your skins rejuvenation.
- Avoid strong sun exposure or sun beds 2 weeks prior to treatment.
- No Botox or derma fillers within 2 weeks prior.
- No waxing, depilatory creams or electrolysis to the area for 5-7 days prior to treatment.
- No shaving the day of the procedure, ideally shave the day before.
After Procedure
Day 1-3
- Only us lukewarm water to wash your face for the first 48 hours. On day 2 or 3 it is safe to use a gentle cleansing face wash and cool water using light circular movements. Redness, sensitivity spot bleeding and some swelling is normal and can last 2-4 days.
- Avoid strenuous exercise that causes sweating, hot baths, jacuzzi, steam room and saunas.
- Use only mineral makeup after 24 hours. Ideally non at all do the first 3 days.
- Avoid sun exposure and sun beds for at least 2 weeks.
- No spray tans for at least 1 week.
- Use a fresh pillow case.
Day 2-7
- Peeling may start and you will notice dryness and flaking of the skin, this is due to an increase turnover in skin cells. Do not pick, scratch or scrub. Allow the skin to flake and keep moisturised at all times with a hyaluronic serum. You will be provided some in your care pack.
- You may stay to use a gentle cleansing face wash with cool water.
Day 5-7
- You may re start your usual skincare routine with your own products once your skin is no longer irritated.
For bet results we recommend follow up and repeat the treatment in 4-6 weeks. A course of 3-6 treatments are recommended for best results.
